Hi, I'm Sofia! I like to focus on what's important...

Welcome to my portfolio. I've always had an eye for capturing the moment. Since I was younger, I was running off with any camera I could get and snapping away. Being able to be apart of your special moment and expereince is what fills my bucket and brings me joy. The client and their vision is crucial and I am here to make that vision come to life.

From the suburbs of Philadelphia, I am working towards my B.A. in Mass Communications majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Event Management with a Sports Media concentration at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.

My Education & Experience

Here's how I began!

High School

I noticed the lack of attendance to our women's sports. When I was injured, I decided to make myself useful and take photos for my soccer team while I rode the bench. I picked up my mom's Sony A58 and just clicked the shutter. I had no idea what I was doing but I was passionate and determined. Athletes wanted my photos and I had those closest to me pushing me to be more than just an injured soccer player with a camera. Slatt Photography began! Before I knew it I was a founder of the Panther Sports Pride Network and was shooting other sports for my high school.

College

Going from a small high school, I did not know how to get involved at an SEC school. I didn't have a mentor besides YouTube tutorials and TikTok videos. I learned about different organizations that would get me back into doing what I love. I joined the Daily Gamecock as a photojournalist to build to my portfolio. Feeling starstruck, I sat next to other incredible photographers. I shot games like Women's Basketball and Men's Baseball. Soon enough, I was working for the University of South Carolina as a photographer for Health & Well-being and on my sorority's executive board as VP of Marketing.

Outside the Classroom

Feeling confident, I learned that I could implement my love for photography into anything I set my mind to. I worked my way up from Event Management Assistant to Social Media Marketing Manager at FiveFest, LLC. There I shoot, edit and post events such as tailgates and concerts like Fetty Wap, Twinsick, Waka Flacka Flame, Xandra, Winyah, Congress the Band, and more.With that expereice under my belt, I worked as a USGA P.J. Boatwright Marketing and Data Services Intern for the Golf Association of Philadelphia. I shot promotional and sports content for events such as the LPGA ShopRite Classic, 125th BMW Philadelphia Men's Amateur and 4th Women's GAP Championship.
